Polish trance & progressive legend Sundriver has a knack for contributing unforgettable, sun-kissed compositions to our annual mixed compilations. A fixture on both our Silk Royal Showcase and Only Silk compilations in the past, Sundriver offers the brand new “Orion” to this year’s “Only Silk 04” release, mixed by Shingo Nakamura & Max Flyant. As expected, it’s another Balearic masterpiece, featuring radiant synth layers and a poignant lead theme.
In the early going, an uptempo, yet soothing rhythm suits the beachside ambience just perfectly. Following a very gentle crescendo, we are met with a calm and profoundly beautiful theme, which evokes Ibiza at dusk. The latter half of the track showcases a key change, an audacious compositional decision that successfully adds emotional resonance to the already breathtaking lead motif. Two versions of “Orion” are available in this package, one of which includes a gorgeous symphonic introduction.
